The Ajoke Ayisat Afolabi Foundation (AAAF), the corporate social responsibility branch of the SIFAX Group, has successfully trained over 90 students from the State Senior Secondary School in Oyewole, Agege, Lagos State. This initiative, conducted in collaboration with the World Bank, is part of the ongoing Community Connections Campaign Projects aimed at enhancing educational and employment opportunities for youth in Nigeria.
The training program focused on equipping students with essential technology skills, including computer literacy, machine learning, and artificial intelligence. Participants were selected from various classes with the intention that they would share their newly acquired skills with peers, thereby amplifying the program’s impact within the school community.
Mrs. Foluke Ademokun, Executive Coordinator of AAAF, emphasized that this initiative targets the pressing issues of youth unemployment and skill gaps in Nigeria. She noted that the skills learned would not only benefit the students but also contribute to the broader economic development of their communities.
In appreciation, the school’s Vice Principal, Mrs. Sherifat Ajala, expressed gratitude to AAAF and the SIFAX Group for their commitment to student empowerment. Goodluck Innocent and Moses Faith, standout participants in the training, also conveyed their thanks for the opportunity to gain valuable skills. At the conclusion of the program, the school received a projector, laptop, and projector screen, continuing the tradition of support for educational institutions involved in similar initiatives.
