Inmarsat Maritime, a Viasat company, has partnered with Station Satcom to install NexusWave on a bulk carrier managed by Singapore’s Norse Ship Management. This initiative aims to enhance crew and business connectivity across the fleet in response to increasing demands.

NexusWave aligns with Norse Ship Management’s digitalization goals by providing continuous remote access to essential applications and real-time engine monitoring. The service ensures seamless data exchange between the ship and shore, offering unlimited data and global coverage. Crew members can enjoy internet experiences comparable to those on land, with web-based applications functioning smoothly.

The technology behind NexusWave employs unique network bonding, allowing applications to utilize the combined speed and capacity of multiple networks simultaneously, rather than relying on a single source. This approach ensures reliable, secure, and high-performance connectivity for ship owners and managers.

Looking ahead, NexusWave will be enhanced by the integration of the next-generation ultra-high capacity ViaSat-3 Ka-band network, further increasing speed and capacity to meet the evolving needs of Inmarsat Maritime’s customers.
