OneWeb LEO Goes Live on CMA CGM Fleet

Eutelsat, the CMA CGM Group, and Marlink have joined forces to implement OneWeb’s low Earth orbit (LEO) connectivity across CMA CGM’s extensive maritime fleet. This innovative solution combines Eutelsat OneWeb’s European LEO services with existing LEO and geostationary (GEO) networks, enhancing connectivity options for the shipping industry.

Over the next nine months, OneWeb LEO services will be deployed to more than 300 vessels within CMA CGM’s fleet. This initiative marks a significant advancement in maritime connectivity, establishing a high-availability architecture on an unprecedented scale for the industry.

The partnership will enable CMA CGM to leverage high-speed, low-latency connectivity, which is crucial for the ongoing digital transformation of its operations. With a global presence in 177 countries and a fleet exceeding 650 vessels serving over 420 ports, CMA CGM is poised to enhance its operational efficiency through this advanced connectivity solution.
