A tragic boating accident in the Bay of Bengal claimed the life of a 33-year-old woman on Thursday, February 19. This incident occurred off the coast of Puducherry, India, as reported by local newspaper The Hindustan Gazette.

The victim was on a private charter boat with her husband, their three children, and three other passengers when the vessel capsized near the Ariankuppam River’s mouth that afternoon.

Local police and coastal security personnel, along with fishermen nearby, quickly responded to the scene, assisting the passengers who were thrown into the water. This tragic event highlights the dangers of recreational boating and the importance of safety measures.
