The Solent’s maritime sector is gaining national recognition, with local businesses nominated in seven out of 11 categories for the Maritime UK Awards. The awards ceremony is set for June 26 in Dover, showcasing an impressive array of finalists from the region.
Among the nominees are notable companies such as Carisbrooke Shipping Ltd, Associated British Ports, Carnival UK, Sunseeker International Ltd, Griffon Marine Ltd, Robosys Automation, Chartwell Marine Ltd, Anchoright, and XB44.
Anne-Marie Mountifield, chair of Maritime UK Solent, expressed pride in the region’s achievements, emphasizing that the Solent’s status as a leading maritime cluster is reflected in the number of finalists. She highlighted the strength of collaboration and innovation among local businesses as key factors in their recognition.
