The newly launched superyacht M/Y Dolce Vento sank shortly after its debut at Medyılmaz Shipyard in Ereğli, Turkey, on September 2, 2025. Videos show the 24-meter vessel capsizing just minutes after entering the water around 2:30 PM local time.
Reports indicate that Dolce Vento encountered stabilization issues approximately 15 minutes post-launch, leading to water intake and a subsequent sinking to a depth of seven meters. At the time, the yacht’s owner, captain, and two crew members were aboard. All four managed to escape by jumping into the ocean and were rescued by nearby shipyard workers.
The Coast Guard and medical teams were dispatched to the scene, but fortunately, no injuries were reported. Constructed at Medyılmaz Shipyard since 2024, Dolce Vento, previously known as NB65, features a steel hull and aluminum superstructure. An investigation is underway to determine the cause of the incident.
