A Turkish-owned ship, the Rozana, has successfully navigated the Strait of Hormuz after receiving permission from Iranian authorities, according to Turkish Transport and Infrastructure Minister Abdulkadir Uraloglu. He noted that Ankara had issued a high-level security warning for the strait and is in ongoing discussions with Iran regarding the status of 14 other Turkish-owned vessels still waiting in the area.
Uraloglu confirmed that out of the 15 Turkish-owned ships in the vicinity, permission was granted for one to pass through, and it utilized an Iranian port. The ministry reported that a total of 171 personnel from Turkish-owned vessels are currently present in the region.
The ongoing U.S.-Israeli conflict with Iran has effectively blocked the Strait of Hormuz, leaving many tankers and ships stranded, which raises concerns about global energy supplies. In response to the situation, Turkish Airlines and Pegasus Airlines have canceled numerous flights to various destinations, including Iraq, Syria, and Iran, with some cancellations extending into late March. Turkish Airlines has, however, added flights to Oman and diverted 76 flights to Turkey since the conflict began on February 28.
