Sinobunker, a subsidiary of Cosco Shipping, has launched the world’s first green ammonia bunker facility at the Dalian Terminal of Cosco Shipping Heavy Industry. This ammonia is sourced from a major green hydrogen and ammonia plant developed by Envision in Chifeng, which operates on the largest independent renewable energy system globally. The plant utilizes an innovative blend of wind, solar, and energy storage, powered by advanced AI technologies to optimize fuel production.

The facility, certified for its sustainable practices, aims to produce 1.5 million tons of green ammonia annually by 2028. It has achieved the world’s first renewable ammonia certification from Bureau Veritas, making strides in eco-friendly fuel production. A harbor tractor utilizing this green ammonia is equipped with a dual-fuel engine that achieves a remarkable 91% ammonia substitution rate, significantly reducing reliance on fossil fuels and lowering carbon emissions.
