Maritime UK Solent will return to the Seawork exhibition in Southampton from June 10 to 12, aiming to connect young people with maritime career opportunities. As Europe’s largest commercial marine exhibition, it will feature over 400 exhibitors and 70 vessels. Maritime UK Solent’s stand will allow visitors to engage with key employers, learn about industry initiatives, and discover the benefits of its Partnership Programme, which highlights the region’s premier maritime cluster.
A key highlight will be a Training and Careers Insight Session on June 11 from 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM, aimed at educators in STEM and technical fields. This free session is tailored for those teaching subjects like engineering, computer science, and design technology. Attendees will network with industry professionals, hear about careers in the commercial marine sector, and gain insights into opportunities ranging from marine engineering to maritime law.
On June 12, Maritime UK Solent will support the Seawork Training and Careers Day, featuring a careers fair with over 25 companies and live sessions from young professionals. This event is open to students in Year 8 and above, providing them access to valuable resources and experiences in the maritime industry.
