Nor-Shipping 2023 was a resounding success, leaving attendees with an unforgettable experience. From the start of the week with the ringing of the bell at the Oslo Stock Exchange, to the final delegates leaving the exhibition center in Lillestrøm, Nor-Shipping exceeded all expectations. The event saw a record turnout at the exhibition, renowned speakers at the conferences, and a vibrant social scene that enjoyed sunny weather throughout the week. Sidsel Norvik, Director of Nor-Shipping, described it as “the perfect arena to support our great global industry.”

Norvik emphasized the incredible enthusiasm and sense of opportunity that permeated the event. Participants from diverse industry sectors and countries seized the chance to connect and do business. Nor-Shipping has always prioritized quality over quantity, focusing on key issues, breakthrough knowledge, and innovations that shape the industry’s future. This year, the event expanded its reach with new conferences, an enhanced social scene, and increased partner activities, resulting in higher participant numbers.

Preliminary analysis indicates that the exhibition halls received 30,000 entries, featuring 892 exhibiting companies. The total number of participants exceeded 50,000 when including conference attendees, networking events, and official social gatherings. These figures exclude the numerous partner and exhibitor events held in Oslo. The event featured renowned speakers such as US diplomat John F. Kerry, Dr. Andrew Forrest of Fortescue Metals Group, Nobel laureate Joseph E. Stiglitz, and IMO’s Kitack Lim, further raising the bar for knowledge sharing.

Norvik expressed satisfaction with the event’s ability to cater to all ambitions within the ocean space. The goal was to bridge the gap between sustainability and commercial development, providing real value to the global audience. The attendees themselves were the main attraction, fostering an atmosphere of engagement and forming new partnerships that will yield long-term benefits. Nor-Shipping organizers extended their gratitude to everyone who attended and made the event special, eagerly anticipating their return in 2025.

The next Nor-Shipping is scheduled to take place in Lillestrøm and Oslo, Norway on June 2-6, 2025. Planetary awareness and concern tend to indicate a bigger and better event with even more global industry leaders coming together.
