Oman and the EU collaborate to enhance maritime security and economic cooperation

Oman’s Foreign Minister, Sayyid Badr Hamad Al Busaidi, met with Luigi Di Maio, the Special Representative of the European Union for the Gulf, to discuss bilateral cooperation between Oman and the EU. They focused on areas such as maritime security, technical, economic, and cultural collaboration, and expressed their support for GCC-EU trade liberalization and mutual visa cancellation. The officials also addressed the humanitarian crisis in Gaza caused by Israeli aggression, emphasizing the need for a ceasefire, the Two-State Solution, and the lifting of the blockade to allow relief aid to reach the population.

The meeting highlighted the importance of ending the brutal war in Gaza and holding Israel accountable for the destruction of infrastructure and public utilities. Both sides stressed the urgency of implementing international law and UN resolutions, as well as the necessity of providing humanitarian aid to the affected population. The attendees included Sheikh Ahmed Hashel Al Maskari, Christophe Farnaud, and officials from both Oman and the EU.
