Orkney Ferries, a Scottish inter-island ferry operator, has announced a partnership with Hogia Ferry Systems to replace their reservation and ticketing system. The implementation of Hogia’s reservation system, BOOKIT, is set to take place in Spring 2024. According to Eddie Barclay, Service Manager at Orkney Ferries, the decision to switch systems was driven by new regulations and increased customer expectations. Moving to BOOKIT will offer benefits to customers, such as the ability to make changes to their booking online and request refunds for changed travel plans. The new system will also allow Orkney Ferries to make improvements in managing deck space, which will ultimately benefit their customers.
Niclas Blomstrom, Managing Director at Hogia Ferry Systems, expressed excitement about the partnership and the opportunity to improve Orkney Ferries’ service level and customer offerings. He emphasized that their modern platform is more capable and user-friendly than the current system, and it will enable Orkney Ferries to enhance their customer experience. Blomstrom also mentioned the potential for collaboration with other parties to make a difference in Orkney Ferries’ customer experience. Overall, the partnership aims to bring positive changes and improvements to the ferry operator’s services and customer satisfaction.
