Learning and operational technology firm Ocean Technologies Group (OTG) has partnered with KeelX Education to offer e-learning courses on the safe handling and transportation of dry bulk cargoes. The courses will be available through OTG’s Ocean Learning Platform and will provide ship owners with a resource to enhance their crews’ knowledge and reduce risks to safety. The courses utilize case studies and real-life scenarios to provide an in-depth understanding of how to handle and transport specialist dry bulk cargoes safely. The first modules cover coal, cement, and soybeans, with two additional titles focusing on nickel ore and steel coils to be added later. KeelX Education program lead, Evros Damianou, stated that the courses will provide learners with the relevant knowledge to mitigate and avoid possible claims, incidents, and off-hire, while safeguarding human life on board. Henning Davies, global commercial director for OTG, emphasized the importance of KeelX’s research and their commitment to creating high-quality e-learning resources to improve the safety of operations.
