The Sharjah Maritime Academy recently celebrated the graduation of its first batch of students in Khorfakkan. The event was filled with inspiring speeches and congratulations as graduates embarked on their new careers in the maritime industry. The Sharjah Ruler commended the graduates for their achievements, emphasizing the importance of their contributions to the maritime sector.

The academy, a cutting-edge institution, focuses on maritime studies, training, and research. It is the only institution in the UAE offering CAA-accredited baccalaureate-level degree programs in maritime education. Operating under the regulations of the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy, the academy ensures compliance with national standards for sea-going operations and holds the status of Accredited Training Provider by the National Qualifications Centre.

Graduates like Ismail Hassan Al-Balooshi and Ammar Yasser Tattan shared their experiences and aspirations. Ismail, from Khorfakkan, expressed his love for navigation instilled by growing up near the sea. He highlighted the challenges faced during training, emphasizing the support received from his family. Ammar, of Syrian origin, spoke of blending engineering with his passion for the sea, citing the academy’s opening as a pivotal moment in his career. Both graduates expressed gratitude for the support and opportunities provided by the Sharjah Ruler.
