Yinson GreenTech (YGT) and Eastern Pacific Shipping (EPS) have signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) to collaborate on cleaner and more sustainable maritime operations in Singapore. The partnership will focus on using electric vessels for cargo delivery and crew transfers within the Port of Singapore, with the goal of gathering data on their feasibility, efficiency, and safety. Additionally, YGT’s marine electrification business, marinEV, will work with EPS to integrate electric vessels into last-mile delivery operations, reducing Scope 3 emissions in the shipping industry.

MarinEV’s managing director, Jan-Viggo Johansen, sees this collaboration as a significant step towards a future where clean and efficient transportation solutions are the norm. The partnership with EPS, along with other industry leaders, aims to create a sustainable maritime landscape. EPS CEO Cyril Ducau believes that the LOI signed during the Singapore Maritime Week 2024 not only provides a greener transportation alternative but also supports the industry’s commitment to decarbonizing shipping.

The collaboration between YGT, marinEV, and EPS highlights a shared commitment to sustainability and innovation in the maritime industry. By leveraging electric vessels for cargo delivery and crew transfers, the partners aim to reduce emissions and pave the way for wider industry adoption of cleaner transportation solutions.
