Kongsberg Maritime to Convert Ferry to Emission-Free Battery Power

Kongsberg Maritime has been awarded a project to convert the MF Hamlet ferry to operate emission-free on battery power. The upgrade includes large battery packs and new motors for the azimuth thrusters. Objectives include achieving zero emissions, full electric operation, and mechanical propulsion redundancy. The project is set to begin in November 2025.

eWolf, the Revolutionary Battery-Powered Tug, Delivered to Crowley

US-based Crowley has taken delivery of the United States’ first all-electric, ship-based harbor tug, eWolf. Designed for emission-free operation and built by Master Boat Builders in Alabama, the 82-foot harbor tug will be deployed to the Port of San Diego in spring 2024. This marks a significant step towards Crowley’s commitment to sustainability and decarbonization.
