India to Develop Major Shipbuilding Clusters Across Five Coastal States to Boost Maritime Industry
India plans to establish shipbuilding clusters across 15,000 acres in five coastal states: Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, and Maharashtra. Maharashtra will host approximately 40% of this land. The initiative aims to build a strong domestic shipbuilding industry, with investments expected to reach ₹1.5 lakh crore.
