India is set to inaugurate its first domestic coastal green shipping corridor, connecting Kandla with Thoothukudi. This initiative aims to decarbonize maritime logistics and is expected to be operational within six months. Ports will promote green fuels, including methanol, to power retrofitted vessels, advancing sustainable maritime practices.
Commerce Secretary Sunil Barthwal’s recent visit to the Netherlands established a green and digital corridor linking the Port of Rotterdam with Indian ports. This initiative targets green hydrogen exports to Europe, enhancing collaboration in digitalization, green shipping, and logistics optimization to bolster bilateral trade and support India’s Maritime Vision 2030.

This visit will facilitate the signing of a contract to fully utilize the strategically vital Chabahar Port, developed with Indian aid, confirming a positive and lucrative agreement between both countries.
