Cyprus has renewed its collective agreement for seafarers on Cyprus-flagged vessels, effective from January 1, 2026, to December 31, 2028. This three-year deal aligns local maritime labor standards with international norms, updating wage scales and compensation to meet ILO minimums, enhancing the competitiveness of the Cypriot shipping sector.
During her speech at the ITF Worldwide Inspectors Seminar, Deputy Shipping Minister Marina Hadjimanolis emphasized seafarers’ welfare as a priority for Cyprus. She highlighted the need for a new skills framework to adapt to technological changes and announced Cyprus’s upcoming EU Presidency, focusing on seafarers’ training and women’s inclusion in maritime affairs.
Mano Maritime is organizing two special cruise voyages to repatriate Israeli citizens stranded in Cyprus, using the luxury cruise ship Crown Iris. Each round trip will take about 15 hours, with tickets priced between €399 and €650. Enhanced security measures will ensure a safe return amid the ongoing regional tensions.
