EEA Urges Maritime Transport to Accelerate Decarbonization Efforts
The European Environment Agency (EEA) has urged the maritime transport sector to speed up efforts in reducing emissions and decarbonizing. A recent report revealed a doubling of methane emissions from maritime transport due to increased demand. The sector currently contributes three to four percent of the EU’s CO2 emissions, highlighting the need for significant reduction.
