Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers (GRSE) and Hindustan Shipyard Limited (HSL) have formed a consortium through a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to enhance India’s shipbuilding capabilities. Signed in Kolkata, this collaboration aims to develop maritime platforms and promote technological self-reliance, significantly advancing India’s naval infrastructure and indigenous shipbuilding efforts.
Hindustan Shipyard Limited (HSL) has marked significant progress in its 60-ton Bollard Pull Tug program for the Visakhapatnam Port Authority. Key milestones include the keel laying of the first tug and a contract for a second vessel, underscoring the collaboration aimed at modernizing VPA’s fleet in line with India’s Maritime Vision 2030.
During a recent visit, Jitin Prasada, the Minister of State for Commerce and Industry, highlighted the significance of Hindustan Shipyard Limited (HSL). Cmde Girideep Singh outlined HSL’s capabilities in shipbuilding and repairs, emphasizing green-energy technologies and its role in the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative, enhancing India’s maritime self-reliance.
