IMO honored Coast Guard members and good Samaritans for their bravery during the Lahaina wildfire. The wildfire destroyed over 2,200 buildings and claimed over 100 lives. Survivors recounted a self-organized evacuation, with many jumping into the harbor to escape. The IMO presented awards for exceptional bravery at sea to recognize their courageous response.
