Visakhapatnam will host the Lighthouse Festival 3.0 on January 9 and 10, celebrating India’s maritime heritage. Organized by the Union Ministry of Ports, Shipping, and Waterways, the festival features cultural performances, engaging coastal communities and promoting lighthouse tourism. High-profile guests are anticipated, ensuring a memorable experience for all attendees.
The Directorate General of Lighthouses and Lightships (DGLL) hosted the 3rd IALA Council Meeting in Mumbai from December 8–12, 2025, with over 60 delegates from 30 countries. Union Minister Shri Sarbananda Sonowal inaugurated the event, highlighting India’s growing role in maritime standards and launching a Digital Ticketing Portal for Lighthouse Tourism.
