Chalmers University of Technology and Greencarrier Group have launched a strategic partnership to enhance sustainability in the maritime sector. Over three years, Greencarrier will fund research led by Professor Ida-Maja Hassellöv, focusing on environmental science and responsible practices, bridging academia and industry to tackle pressing maritime challenges.
The foundation stone for the Centre of Excellence building at the Indian Maritime University was laid by Dr. Malini V Shankar. The construction is set to be completed by July 2025, overseen by university officials and CPWD’s Chief Engineer. The center aims to promote research, training, and industry partnerships in the maritime sector.
Wärtsilä has provided its latest simulator technology to the Sharjah Maritime Academy in the UAE, enhancing the academy’s training capabilities. The advanced simulation facility includes navigation, engineering, and VTS simulators, as well as a mixed reality vessel handling application. This collaboration aims to elevate maritime training standards and foster innovation in the industry.
