CMA CGM’s “She Sails” program, launched in December 2024, marks its first anniversary, celebrating significant strides in integrating women into maritime careers. The initiative has successfully doubled the number of women on board CMA CGM vessels, increasing from 200 in 2024 to 403 by the end of 2025. The company is now aiming for 1,000 female seafarers by 2030.

The program not only promotes maritime professions but also fosters experience sharing among female seafarers, inspiring young women to explore careers at sea. Over the past year, “She Sails” has been instrumental in advancing women’s careers within the fleet, supported by a network of 42 ambassadors across 19 countries.

Additionally, CMA CGM has established partnerships with maritime schools, signing agreements in Abu Dhabi and India, with more in development in the Philippines and Indonesia to enhance the recruitment of officer cadets. This initiative has also led to notable career advancements, with 74 promotions this year, including eight to senior officer positions and 48 from officer cadets to junior officers, marking unprecedented achievements for the group.
