Captain Raja Subramaniam has been appointed as the new CEO of Fleet Management Limited, the world’s second-largest ship management company. He will officially take over as CEO on January 1, following a transition period that begins on October 21. With experience as a master mariner and former head of MISC Group, a key player in offshore services and gas carrier operations, Captain Subramaniam is seen as an ideal choice to lead Fleet Management Limited into its next phase of growth and innovation.
Dr. Kishore Rajvanshy, a veteran shipmanagement executive who has led Fleet Management Ltd. since the 1990s, will transition to an advisory role as managing director emeritus. Under his leadership, the company has grown to become a top player in the industry. Dr. Rajvanshy expressed gratitude for the support of the company’s employees and partners and welcomed Captain Subramaniam, looking forward to working with him to guide the company towards new opportunities.
Fleet Management Limited has a diverse portfolio of over 650 vessels, covering various classes and sizes. The company’s operations encompass one percent of the world’s container fleet and two percent of the commodity fleet, supported by a team of 27,000 seafarers and 1,200 onshore maritime professionals globally. The appointment of Captain Subramaniam signifies a generational shift in leadership for the company, with expectations of continued success and excellence in the maritime industry under his guidance.
