Collaboration Between Kongsberg & Solstad Offshore to Advance Decarbonisation Technologies

Kongsberg Maritime and Solstad Offshore have announced a collaboration agreement to trial decarbonisation technologies on Solstad’s fleet of ships. The companies will work together to identify and use Kongsberg Maritime products and services to increase fuel efficiency and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. They will also explore the use of new digital technologies to improve operational efficiency. Solstad’s fleet consists of around 40 modern ships that operate globally, all of which already have equipment from Kongsberg Maritime onboard. The collaboration aims to support the goal of decarbonisation within the maritime industry.

James Poulton, SVP Aftermarket Sale at Kongsberg Maritime, expressed excitement about continuing the historic collaboration with Solstad Offshore. He emphasized that close partnerships are crucial for developing the next generation of integrated technologies to support decarbonisation in the maritime industry. Tor Inge Dale, Sustainability Director at Solstad, highlighted the importance of collaboration in the ongoing energy transformation process. He noted that Kongsberg and Solstad have a history of partnering to advance technology, and this partnership will now extend to their joint efforts in decarbonisation.
