Body camera video obtained by local media captured the stunned reactions of first responders after a bridge collapse in Baltimore that killed six men in March. The footage shows Maryland Natural Resources Police officers expressing disbelief as they approached the site where the Francis Scott Key Bridge collapsed into the Patapsco River. One officer can be heard saying, “Dude, this is fucking bad, like there’s no bridge.”

The collapse occurred after a massive container ship lost power and crashed into one of the bridge’s supporting columns, leading to the tragic deaths of the men working on the bridge at the time. The incident also caused a halt in traffic at the Port of Baltimore, a key trading hub that accounted for a significant portion of U.S. coal exports the previous year. The FBI launched a criminal investigation into the collapse last month.

In the video, responders can be heard assessing injuries and offering medical assistance to those involved in the collapse. The shocked responders are seen grappling with the magnitude of the disaster, with one stating, “This is disastrous.” The investigation into the collapse continues, with authorities working to piece together what led to the tragic event.
