Foreign Seafarers Found Unconscious in Pangasinan Declared Dead

Three crew members of a Marshall Islands-flagged vessel were found unconscious and declared dead while sailing in the waters off Bolinao, Pangasinan. The vessel, MV Blue Cecil, was en route from Portland, United States to Singapore when the incident occurred. The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) dispatched BRP Malabrigo to coordinate with the foreign vessel for the transfer of the deceased crew members.

The PCG reported that the foreign vessel planned to anchor in the vicinity waters off the Manila Anchorage Area. The company of the foreign vessel had already arranged for the transfer of the deceased seafarers and coordinated their arrival at the Port of Manila. The PCG did not provide details on the cause of the crew members’ deaths, but the incident underscores the risks faced by seafarers in the maritime industry.
