The Odisha Government is strategically transforming its maritime sector by inviting Expressions of Interest (EOI) from global investors. This initiative focuses on developing Non-Major Ports, Cruise Terminals, Multi-purpose Harbours, Shipbuilding and Repair Facilities, and Container Terminals across designated port locations.
Led by the Odisha Maritime Board, this effort aims to enhance cargo handling capacity, boost maritime tourism, and stimulate regional trade, all while generating employment and fostering industrial growth through Public-Private Partnerships (PPP).
Odisha’s 574.71 km coastline features eight key development sites: Bichitrapur, Bahabalpur, Chandipur, Inchuri, Chudamani, Baliharachandi, Palur, and Bahuda Muhan. These locations have been assessed for traffic, environmental impact, and connectivity to ensure a sustainable infrastructure approach.
Smt. Usha Padhee, Principal Secretary of the Commerce & Transport Department, emphasized the initiative’s goal of creating a world-class maritime ecosystem that promotes economic opportunities through private sector engagement. The detailed EOI document is available for download on the department’s official website, positioning Odisha as a premier maritime hub in India.
