VOC Port in southern India has seen substantial growth in LPG handling, reporting a 40.01% increase in the current financial year 2025–26. By July, the port processed 133,520 tonnes of LPG, up from 95,364 tonnes in the same timeframe last year. Over the past five years, LPG volumes have consistently risen, peaking at 402,000 tonnes in 2024–25, following gradual increases each year.

All LPG operations are managed at the Oil Jetty, which features a 150-metre quay capable of accommodating vessels up to 40,000 DWT. To enhance capacity, the port is upgrading the facility to handle vessels up to 55,000 DWT by adding new berthing dolphins.

Susanta Kumar Purohit, Chairperson, highlighted that the steady rise in cargo handling reflects the port’s commitment to supporting the nation’s energy needs. The upgrades to the oil jetty aim to facilitate both smaller and larger vessels, ensuring efficient operations moving forward.
