A new digital series, “Oceans of Opportunity: A Change of Tide,” created by the Institute of Marine Engineering, Science & Technology (IMarEST) in partnership with Content With Purpose (CWP), aims to showcase marine businesses working towards improving sustainability practices in the industry. The series explores various issues such as sustainable resource use, ocean conservation, and workers’ welfare through short films, expert interviews, and case studies. It features insights from organizations like the IMO, Lloyd’s Register Marine and Offshore, and IMarEST, supported by industry leaders and research institutions.
IMarEST’s Chief Executive, Chris Goldsworthy, highlighted the importance of sharing industry innovations to drive meaningful change across the marine sector and beyond. The series focuses on highlighting the strategies and innovations adopted by industry leaders to advance environmental stewardship while maintaining operational efficiency. Key topics include carbon-neutral shipping, low-impact technologies, and social responsibility in seafaring communities. The partnership with CWP aims to inspire others in the industry to take bold steps towards a sustainable future.
The digital series, running from December 2024 to February 2025, aims to empower stakeholders to rethink conventional practices and embrace sustainability in the marine industry. It offers real-world examples of how the sector is shaping a sustainable future, encouraging others to act with purpose.
