The Port of Oakland has launched its 2025 Summer College Internship Program, offering paid opportunities for qualified applicants in various professional fields such as Aviation, Engineering, Legal, and more. This program, which has been running for nearly two decades, aims to provide college students with valuable hands-on experience at one of the busiest ports in the nation. The Chief Public Engagement Officer, Matt Davis, emphasized the program’s goal of helping students grow both professionally and personally while contributing to the success of the region.

Interested applicants must submit their applications by February 24, 2025, for a chance to participate in the Summer College Internship Program, which will run from June 9 to August 15, 2025. To be eligible, applicants must have a minimum GPA of 2.75 and be residents of one of the nine Bay Area counties. Selected interns will have the opportunity to gain a comprehensive understanding of the Port’s business lines through various activities, including meetings with Port Commissioners, roundtable discussions with elected officials, and exclusive tours of the Oakland Airport and Seaport.
