VASCO: VR Maritime Services Pvt. Ltd., a crew management and maritime service provider overseeing crew operations for over 200 ships globally and employing more than 6,000 seafarers, has officially opened its new office in Goa. The inauguration took place on Friday, led by Capt Sanjay Prashar, the Chief Executive Officer, alongside Managing Director Sonika Prashar. The event was attended by notable figures including South Goa MP Capt Viriato Fernandes and Commissioner for NRI Affairs Narendra Sawaikar, among others from the maritime, legal, and educational sectors.
During the inauguration, Capt Sanjay Prashar highlighted Goa’s rich maritime heritage and the region’s recognized seafaring talent as key factors in the decision to expand operations there. He mentioned that the new office would enhance direct recruitment, training, and welfare support for local seafarers, thereby fostering stronger community ties and contributing to regional development.
The newly established Goa office will be led by Capt Francisco A. J. Gouveia, a highly experienced Master Mariner with 45 years in the maritime industry, ensuring that the office is well-equipped to meet the needs of both the company and the local maritime community.
