A.P. Moller-Maersk and Kenya Ports Authority have collaborated to launch a maritime training program that offers fully funded, 12-month sea-time training opportunities aboard Maersk vessels for 10 Kenyan cadets. These cadets, carefully selected through a stringent screening process by Maersk’s global fleet team, will undergo comprehensive training that meets international standards. This training will prepare them for potential employment opportunities within Maersk and the broader maritime industry.
Upon completion of all necessary documentation, the cadets will be appointed to the program. Throughout their training, they will have the chance to provide valuable feedback to their educational institutions in Kenya. This feedback will benefit future batches of students, ensuring continuous improvement and enhancement of the training program for aspiring maritime professionals in the country.
Additionally, the cadets will have the opportunity to gain practical experience and knowledge aboard Maersk vessels, further enhancing their skills and competencies in the maritime sector. This initiative not only supports the development of the cadets but also contributes to the growth and sustainability of the maritime industry in Kenya.
