Marlow Navigation has launched a dedicated emotional support helpline for its seafarers, in partnership with the International Seafarers’ Welfare and Assistance Network (ISWAN). This confidential, multilingual service operates 24/7, offering crucial support to seafarers facing stress, isolation, or personal challenges.
As a leader in third-party crew and ship management, Marlow oversees over 1,100 vessels and employs more than 16,000 seafarers worldwide. The helpline provides a safe, non-judgmental space for seafarers to discuss their concerns, regardless of their location.
To enhance crew wellbeing, Marlow will receive anonymized summaries of issues raised through the helpline. This data will help identify patterns and inform preventative measures aimed at improving mental health support for seafarers.
The helpline is staffed by trained ISWAN officers, skilled in assisting individuals dealing with a variety of issues, including those at risk of harm. This initiative underscores Marlow’s commitment to the mental health and welfare of its maritime workforce.
