Seanergy Maritime and United Maritime are enhancing their communication infrastructure by integrating Starlink with their current satellite setup across their fleet. Starlink, developed by SpaceX, is a satellite internet constellation that offers high-speed internet access to remote areas. Major shipping companies like Hapag-Lloyd, MOL, and Maersk have already begun using this technology to improve crew connectivity.
The decision to choose Starlink for its high-speed and low latency connectivity was an easy one for Seanergy Maritime and United Maritime, as it benefits both their business operations and the welfare of their seafarers. Stavros Vafeiadis, the IT Manager and project lead, highlighted the importance of embracing technological advancements in their operations. They selected Navarino for the strategic rollout of Starlink, with Andreas Dimitriadis, Navarino’s Director of Strategic Partnerships, expressing pride in being chosen for the project.
Internet connectivity is crucial for the well-being of seafarers, as indicated by the 2023 SEAFiT Crew Survey. Stakeholders and seafarers are urged to engage in discussions on social media using the hashtag #Sign4FreeInternetOnboard. Navarino is committed to providing a top-notch customer experience and is looking forward to collaborating closely with Seanergy Maritime and United Maritime in efficiently deploying the new Starlink service.
