Dali Owners Settle for $102 Million for Baltimore Bridge Collision

The owner and operator of the cargo ship involved in the deadly collision with Baltimore’s Francis Scott Key Bridge have agreed to pay $102 million to the federal government. The settlement follows a civil claim seeking $103 million from two Singaporean companies. The National Transportation Safety Board reported multiple electrical power failures before the crash.

Dali Finishes Unloading Containers in Ongoing Salvage Operation.

Nearly five months after the fatal collision of the containership Dali with Baltimore’s Francis Scott Key Bridge, the offloading of the vessel has been completed in Norfolk, Virginia. The vessel arrived in June with 4,800 containers out of its full capacity of 10,000 TEUs. Baltimore Harbor Navigation Channel Fully Restored After Bridge Collapse

The Federal navigation channel for Baltimore Harbor was fully restored just 76 days after the Dali ship collided with the Francis Scott Key Bridge. The US Army Corp of Engineers confirmed the restoration of the 700-foot wide and 50-foot-deep channel after extensive underwater surveys. Lt. Gen. Scott Spellmon commended the unified efforts that led to the reopening of the Federal Channel for port operations.
