IMO Adopts Interim Guidelines for Ammonia as Marine Fuel to Support Energy Transition
The IMO has adopted interim guidelines for ammonia as marine fuel after negotiations at the 10th session of the IMO Sub-Committee on Cargo and Containers. With the shipping industry transitioning to alternative fuels, safety guidelines for ammonia and hydrogen use are being developed by the CCC for international standards by 2025.
