The Directorate General of Lighthouses and Lightships (DGLL) hosted the 3rd IALA Council Meeting in Mumbai from December 8–12, 2025, with over 60 delegates from 30 countries. Singapore was elected to the council of the International Organisation for Marine Aids to Navigation (IALA) for the term of 2025 to 2027. The Ministry of Transport announced that this election will enhance collaboration in setting technical standards for marine aids to navigation worldwide. Singapore’s commitment to promoting maritime safety was emphasized during the general assembly.
