India Launches Green Tug Transition Program for Sustainable Maritime Industry
The Green Tug Transition Program (GTTP) launched by Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal aims to shift India’s maritime industry towards sustainable alternatives. Major ports will procure green tugs powered by battery-electric, hybrid, methanol, and green hydrogen technologies. With an investment of INR 1000 Crores, the program promotes domestic innovation, manufacturing, and environmental sustainability.
