A recent DNV assessment confirmed that Carbon Ridge’s centrifugal onboard carbon capture system (OCCS) can achieve CO2 capture rates of up to 98%. Tested on the LR2 product tanker STI Spiga, this marks a significant advancement in maritime carbon capture technology, offering a compact solution for reducing emissions on vessels.
Berge Bulk is piloting an onboard carbon capture system on the Ultramax bulker, Berge Yotei, to address new emissions regulations. Developed by Value Maritime, the system captures up to 15 tonnes of CO2 daily, aiming to reduce emissions by 30%. Collaboration is key for scaling this technology in shipping.
Carbon Ridge has received Design Basis Approval (DBA) from DNV for its Onboard Carbon Capture System (OCCS), confirming compliance with safety and regulatory standards. This milestone facilitates future type approval and deployment, promising over 90% CO₂ emission reduction and positioning the OCCS as a key solution for global maritime emissions.
