
Thai Prime Minister urges relocation of Bangkok port
Srettha Thavisin highlighted the benefits of relocating the port, including reducing pollution for local citizens. The Ministry of Transport and the Port Authority of Thailand will conduct a relocation study. The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration supports moving the port to Laem Chabang. Construction of Bangkok Port began in 1938, with the first phase completed in 1947 before Laem Chabang became the primary port in the 1990s.
