X-Press Feeders has introduced its eco-friendly methanol route, the Green Baltic X-PRESS, following the success of the Green Finland X-PRESS. Scheduled to start on August 23, the new route will connect key ports in Europe. With a growing fleet of dual-fuel vessels, the company aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and promote sustainable shipping practices in line with EU regulations.
The feeder operator has ordered four 11,000 TEU vessels from Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding, which will be methanol- and dual-fuel vessels equipped with exhaust gas scrubbers, windshields, and energy-saving solutions. X-press Feeders is working with OCI Global to supply green methanol for the ships, furthering their commitment to sustainability.
Evergreen Marine Corporation has partnered with X-Press Feeders to use their new green methanol dual-fuel vessels in Europe. X-Press Feeders, the world’s largest independent carrier, will deploy 14 dual-fuel vessels in Europe and the Mediterranean, powered by green methanol. This reflects their commitment to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and encourage sustainable shipping.
