Ezzatollah Mohammadi, the managing director of Kish Ports and Airports Development and Management Company, reported that two cargo ships, Nadeen and Nados, collided 25 miles southwest of Kish Island early in the morning. The captain of one of the vessels ordered the evacuation of all crew members following the incident. Kish Island’s lifeboat 16 was promptly deployed to provide rescue services to the crew of the Nados ship, which sustained significant damage.
Despite Kish Island’s readiness to transfer the damaged ship, the owners opted to seek assistance from UAE towing vessels due to sanctions imposed on Iran. The Nados ship has since been successfully transferred to the UAE for further assistance. Nadeen sails under the flag of St. Vincent and the Grenadines, while Nados flies the flag of Panama.
