On August 18, the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that it had successfully destroyed a Houthi unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) in a Houthi-controlled area in Yemen. In the past 24 hours, CENTCOM forces took out an Iran-backed Houthi UAV that was deemed to pose an imminent threat to the United States.

The Iran-aligned Houthi fighters have been supporting Palestinians in the Gaza conflict by launching drone and missile attacks on ships they suspect are connected to Israel or the U.S. These attacks have been ongoing since November, demonstrating the Houthis’ solidarity with the Palestinians in the war.
