DP World has recently launched a new fleet of prime movers equipped with advanced Electronic Stability Control (ESC), a pioneering initiative in the industry. This move highlights the company’s commitment to using cutting-edge technology for enhancing operational safety and efficiency. The ESC technology ensures improved stability, providing drivers with better control even in challenging road and weather conditions. In addition, the fleet is also equipped with a Tail Guarding System that helps prevent reverse collisions by eliminating blind spots and utilizing proximity sensors to stop the vehicle as needed. These safety features reinforce DP World’s dedication to creating a safe work environment for its drivers and promoting operational excellence.
Ravinder Johal, Chief Operating Officer of DP World’s Ports & Terminals business in the Middle East, North Africa, and Subcontinent region, emphasized the company’s priority on ensuring the safety of cargo and truckers. By integrating advanced technology into their new fleet, DP World supports the government’s efforts to enhance road safety and aims to set high safety standards within the industry. The introduction of ESC prime movers, along with an anti-lock braking system, not only increases vehicle safety and performance but also instills confidence in truck drivers and operational staff. These advanced safety features, such as automatic correction of lateral deviations and braking adjustments for stability during cornering, offer optimal control and safety, especially in challenging weather conditions.
Moreover, DP World’s fleet also incorporates Hill Start Assist (HSA) and Automatic Traction Control (ATC) systems to further enhance safety capabilities. The HSA prevents roll-back on inclines, while the ATC ensures better traction on slippery surfaces, reducing the risk of accidents and safeguarding the cargo from potential damage. By continually striving for innovation and best-in-class solutions, DP World maintains its commitment to leading the industry in safety standards and operational excellence.
