KVH Industries, Inc. has completed a major connectivity upgrade for Pacific Basin Shipping, a commercial dry bulk operator with over 75 vessels. Using the KVH ONE multi-orbit, multi-channel network, including Low Earth Orbit service via Starlink, KVH is providing worldwide communications to Pacific Basin’s fleet. The upgrade includes the installation of KVH TracPhone V7-HTS terminals, Starlink Flat High Performance terminals, and KVH’s CommBox Edge Communications Gateway onboard the vessels, as part of a new agreement signed in July 2024.
Pacific Basin’s Director of Fleet Management, Harsh Bhave, emphasized the importance of adding smart bandwidth to enable next-level performance for their ships and crew. The use of KVH’s TracPhone V7-HTS terminals and Starlink service offers high-speed, low-latency Internet connectivity, with intelligent hybrid switching through the CommBox Edge ensuring uninterrupted connectivity worldwide. This upgrade reflects Pacific Basin’s commitment to providing innovative maritime connectivity for their vessels and seafarers.
