The Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA) bid farewell to its Chairman, Mr. Sanjay Sethi, IAS, as he completed his tenure, handing over responsibilities to Mr. Unmesh Sharad Wagh, IRS, who will serve as Chairman-in-charge. During Sethi’s term, the JNPA experienced unprecedented growth and development, positioning itself as a major player in the maritime industry. His visionary initiatives and efficient decision-making significantly impacted the port’s operations and infrastructure, including the successful implementation of innovative policies and environmentally friendly practices. A farewell function was organized to honor Sethi’s contributions, with Mr. Sarbananda Sonowal and various stakeholders from the maritime industry in attendance to appreciate his service and leadership.
The grand farewell function celebrated the distinguished tenure of Mr. Sethi and was attended by dignitaries and stakeholders from the maritime industry. Mr. Sethi’s unwavering commitment and transformational leadership were praised for taking the JNPA to new heights during his term. Mr. Unmesh Sharad Wagh, who has previously served as Deputy Chairman, takes over the role of Chairman-in-charge and brings a wealth of experience in the maritime industry, as well as a proven track record in customs and excise.
Mr. Wagh, with over two decades of experience in the field, including serving as Commissioner of Customs in Kolkata, is expected to build on the foundation laid by his predecessor and lead the JNPA to achieve new milestones. His appointment is anticipated to continue the port’s growth and development under his leadership.
