Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal will embark on a pivotal five-day official trip to Norway and Denmark starting June 2. Leading a Team India delegation that includes both Central and State officials and corporate leaders, he will address the High-level Meeting on Oceans at the Nor-Shipping event in Oslo. Key activities include inaugurating the ‘India Pavilion’, chairing the India @ Nor-Shipping session, and promoting the upcoming ‘India Maritime Week 2025’ slated for October in Mumbai.
On the sidelines of Nor-Shipping, Sonowal plans bilateral discussions with counterparts from Japan and Norway while engaging with prominent European shipping firms, component manufacturers, and technology developers. He will also visit the Oslo Port Authority, showcasing India’s maritime heritage through the pavilion dedicated to the National Maritime Heritage Complex, which highlights India’s 5,000-year maritime history.
In Denmark, Sonowal will engage with students from the ‘Blue MBA’ at Copenhagen Business School, discussing the economic prospects India offers for future leaders. He will also pay tribute to Indian sailors who lost their lives during World War II at Minnehallen “The Hall of Remembrance.”
